Delete Account

Delete your account.

The Rituals — Habit Tracker, published by Kartik Patel. This page explains how to delete your account and the data associated with it.

Effective: July 28, 2026
01

Do you have an account?

The Rituals is local-first. You can use every core feature — creating habits, logging completions, viewing heatmaps, tracking streaks — without ever creating an account. If you never enabled Cloud Sync, no account exists on our servers, and there is nothing for us to delete.

In that case, simply uninstall the app and all of your data is removed from your device.

You have an account if you
  • Enabled Cloud Sync in Settings, and
  • Signed in using email and password, Google Sign-In (Android), or Apple Sign-In (iOS)
02

Delete in-app

Fastest method

  1. 01Open The Rituals on your phone
  2. 02Tap Settings (gear icon, bottom right)
  3. 03Tap Account
  4. 04Tap Delete my account and data
  5. 05Confirm on the warning screen

Your account and cloud-sync data are queued for deletion immediately and fully purged within 7 days. You will be signed out of the app, and local data on your device will be wiped as part of this flow.

03

Delete via email

If you can't open the app

If you have lost your device, uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email us and we will process the deletion manually.

  • To the-rituals@kartikpatelapps.com
  • Subject Delete my account
  • Include in the body
    • The email address on your account (whether you signed up with email/password, Google, or Apple)
    • The approximate date you created the account, so we can locate it faster

We verify ownership by replying to the email address on file before actioning the deletion — so please send your request from that inbox. We confirm deletion by reply within 7 days, and the data is fully purged within 30 days at the latest.

What is kept

And why

A small amount of information must be retained for legal and operational reasons. None of it can be used to re-identify you after account deletion.

Anonymized aggregate analytics

Stored in Firebase Analytics with no user identifiers. Used for product improvement. Cannot be linked back to you.

Retained up to 14 months

Crash-log stack traces

User identifiers stripped. Used for diagnosing app stability.

Retained up to 90 days

Subscription & purchase records

Held by Google Play and RevenueCat as required by tax and consumer-protection law. These belong to your Google Play account, not your The Rituals account, and are managed by Google.

Retained as required by law (typically up to 7 years)
